Our Studio

A design practice built on one simple idea.

Merideth Cole Architecture opened in Austin in 2011 with a straightforward premise: good design should respond to how people actually live and work, not just look good in a photograph.

Meet the Principal

Merideth Cole, AIA

Merideth spent the first six years of her career at a mid-size commercial firm in Dallas before founding her own studio in Austin in 2011 — drawn to residential and light-commercial work where she could stay closely involved in every project from concept through construction. Over 15+ years and 180+ projects, the studio has grown from solo practice to a small team handling new residential construction, additions and renovations, interior architecture, and commercial build-outs across Austin, while holding to the same design philosophy Merideth started with: architecture should be considered, sustainable, and built to actually be lived in.

Our Design Philosophy

Every project starts with the site and the client's actual daily routines, not a predetermined style. Passive solar orientation, durable material choices, and thoughtful interior architecture are built into every design from the first sketch — not treated as an upgrade added later.

Licensure & Credentials

Merideth Cole is a licensed architect in the State of Texas and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The studio's design and construction-document work follows LEED-informed practices on every project, whether or not formal certification is pursued.
